Higgs Boson Ski Pack

Higgs Boson Ski pack. Clean and straight & forward for carrying your skis and avy tools for a day in the mountains, Super tough and waterproof being built out of Xpac X51 laminated Cordura. Large internal pocket for skins, probe, shovel. Simple diagonal ski carry or compression straps for A-frame carry. Built to my standards, 27 ounces,  custom fitted . the volume about 20 liters.

the depth of the pack is 5", but it can be built slightly deeper, front to back for more volume. depending on your back length it can also be made slightly shorter or taller, as this pack is custom fitted. It's designed as really durable backcountry ski pack. It fits shovel, probe, skins, food, water and an extra layer or two, but that's it. obviously, more will fit if it's built bigger.

I use voile straps for attaching skis diagonally on the front. the voile strap slots are reinforced by a layer of 2" webbing inside the pack, which is stitched down and the slots are bar tacked through this. keeps the slots from tearing over time by spreading out the stress. you can see the silver thread on the front of the pack where the webbing is. the side compression straps allow for "A" frame carrying. There is one large inside pocket. the foam back pad has zippered access. The removable belt is just 1" webbing.

the fabric is Dimension Polyant X-Pac X51, which is a five-layer laminate with 500/1000D Cordura face fabric. it's very durable and waterproof to 200 psi. only available in the grey as shown. The zipper is YKK's biggest, a water resistant #10.

The cost is $375, which includes customizing fitting: back length, shoulder strap spacing, and length if needed, slightly bigger volume.
